My idea

Today i looked at a Terry Gilliam interview and summarized it as being very informative and hilarious. i also started to work out my idea for my cut out animation of Michael Jackson's Thriller.

The things i need are:

  • prints/photos of locations and characters.
  • A stopmotion camera.
  • Pc or Mac (with animation software).
  • The song in question (Thriller).
  • A script (Maybe?).
  • Some (very) understading lawers.
  • A storyboard.

Unit 1-Part a: arts challenge.

I would like to explore cut out animation as my art challenge, because i would to develop my abilities in animation.

Strengths:

  • My creativity.
  • I have created animations before
  • I have used iStopmotion before and therefore know how to use it.

Weaknesses:

  • My ability to draw.
  • I have TOO many ideas.
  • I'm too impatient to use flash.
Why cut out animation, I would like to explore a different animation method whilst keeping with a sense of familiarity and to explore stop motion techniques further.

Skills needed for this project:

  • I will need to learn how to be more patient.
  • Develop problem solving skills.

Animation

Myself and James Robinson made two plasticine models for a future project, we both made one model.

This one is mine, I MADE IT!!!

My characters' name is.... Li'l punk.

I and James Robinson animated our plasticine models.

We used a programe called "iStopMotion 3" to animate our little plasticine models and a bendy webcam to record the animation, animating it at 12 frames per second .

I did enjoy animating this and will be looking forward to doing more animated pieces.

Poster

This is the image i started with.

These are some layers i used to create the final image. for the solid colour layers i had to open a new file, Drag the layer from the new file to the one i'm working on, make a duplicate of it and merge the two layers.

This is the final image, i like how pop-arty it is . i attained this effect because of how i used the layer blending options, using blending options like: lighten, multiply and soft light.

I liked this session, but, i would've loved this session if i could remember how to photoshop.
